Chaitanyashree of Kundalini Sound Healing has started a local school and orphanage in Kathmandu for the children of seasonal brick-makers in the outskirts of the city in Nepal. He brings tourists like us to meet the kids, bring food & warm clothes, and see the conditions of these children’s lives. This helps to help raise awareness of the efforts that he and many others around the country provide to these kids to help them receive not only food and shelter, but also some feelings of love, family, and community.
Visiting an Orphanage in Kathmandu, Nepal
Meanwhile, after school hours at the local community school, the boys with no homes live here at Divyanatra Orphanage in Kathmandu. Some have no families, while others’ families are unable to support them. Chaitanyashree uses the profits from his singing bowl sound healing business in Thamel, Kathmandu to take care of these boys and to offer them with feelings of family and love, which will help them to grow as empowered individuals.
Chaitanyashree tells us that, in Sanskrit, Divyanatra means Third Eye, or consciousness and wisdom. In addition to the school having an uplifting name, the staff are extremely remarkable as well: all care-takers and teachers are volunteers. Undoubtedly, they have an impact on the kids within. When one girl was asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she confidently answers, “A social worker.”
The Divyanatra school and orphanage is always accepting donations, volunteers, or any kind of aid. You can help out financially by donating to their cause at http://www.gofundme.com/divyanatra or in other ways by contacting Chaitanyashree directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Shout-out to James Forest and the East Road for creating such beautiful music!
